Patch Cord OM4 it is fully backward compatible with OM3 fiber and shares the same distinctive aquamarine jacket. The OM4 was developed specifically for VSCEL laser transmission and allows a maximum distance of 550m for 10Gb/s links, compared to 300m for the OM3. In addition, it is capable of transmitting 40/100G over a distance of up to 150 meters if an MPO connector is used. It is ideal for connecting 40G BIDI SR, 10G SR, QSFP+, SFP+ transceivers etc. for 10G/40G/100G Ethernet connections and is the preferred fiber specification for 40G/100G applications.
