Patch Cord OM3 This 50/125 OM3 multimode fiber optic cable is ideal for connecting 10G SR, 10G LRM, SFP+ transceivers etc. for 10G/40G/100G Ethernet connections and is the preferred fiber specification for 10G Ethernet connections. It has an aquamarine cover. Its core is 50 µm, the same as OM2, but the cable is optimized for laser-based equipment. This type of fiber supports 10 GbE in lengths of up to 300 meters. In addition, OM3 is capable of supporting 40 GbE and 100 GbE up to 100 meters away, however, its most common application is 10 GbE.
